Adding Google Analytics code to a WordPress website running on the Genesis framework is really, really simple.
As you will know, if you already run Genesis, it has it’s own section in the main menu, so click on Genesis, and choose Theme Settings from the sub-menu.
Now, scroll down to the bottom of the settings page and find the area for adding header and footer scripts. Get the tracking ID from your Analytics account and paste it into the top box. This places the code in the header section of your site.
Now, save the settings and you’re good to go.
You won’t see any information in your Analytics account for about 24 hours.
If you haven’t signed up for Google Analytics yet, read this post, which explains the setup process and how to get the code you need to install on your website or blog.
